assault,
assuage,
force guilt,
or joy,
peace, anger -
fear.

Craftily woven
they create a
tapestry which
bends the ear and
draws the heart
unraveling tales,
triumphant,
woe,
Sweet words,
Constant companions.

Can I live
without them?
This I'll never know
When I wake up
or go to bed
They're always there
breathing, new life
Like Bible verses
truth rings clear -

Constant companions.
I'll never let them go.

Silent Witness

Open your eyes
to the plight of your brother
Open your eyes
to the pain of your sister
Open your eyes
to the shame on your children
Open your eyes and SEE
How can you be -
    so blind - unfeeling
Not wanting to know -
   deep wound - no healing
Wishing it isn't - won't
change the fact that it's so

Invisible curtain
encasing your heart
Make a decision -
Forge a fresh start

 to the plight
  to the pain
  to the shame
to what has become the bane
